His Music Was Stretched Through Many Genres, Such As Blues, Gospel, Film Scores, Popular, and Classic.He Called His Music American Music And He Described The People Who Impressed As Beyond Category.
When Duke Ellington Was Young He Didnt Really Like To Play Piano When He Was Young And Prefered Baseball Because He Got Tired of Playing The Same Boring Notes All The Time When He Practiced. As He Got Older He Had Heard A Man Playing the Piano And He Really Liked It And It Got Him Interested Again So Ever Since He Had Went To Every Practice He Could And Then He started Performing Gigs in Cafe's And Clubs In and Around Washington, D.C. He Liked It Soo Much That He Turned Down a Scholarship To Pratt institute. From 1917-1919 He Launched His Musical Carreer. When He Played His First Time He Took Home Fifty Cents He played For Blacks And White During The Segragation.
