He made the song "Lift Every Voice And Sing", it was known as the negro national anthem. He was a poem writer and he also just as langstain hughes reached out to peoples emotions. one of my favorite books he wrote was called The Autobiography Of Ex-Colored Man. the sont lift every voice and sing was adopted by the naacp. Even now schools sing the national anthem that james weldon johnson wrote which also to me put faith in blacks during the harlem renaisance.
